The Next New Thing

How about video chat on social networking sites such as Facebook, Myspace, and etc.? I know that there are various software out there such as skype, yahoo messenger, and etc. that offer video chat for private use and groupware technology such as Microsoft Office Communications Server that offer live group conferences for corporate use. However, with the increase popularity of social networking sites and the amount of time spent on these websites, I believe the feature of having video chat will vastly improve its population and will take new media to the next level. Not only can users view photos of their friends and family, they would also be able to see them live!

  1. I think this is a good idea. Im sure a lot of people would want to use this service, especially since oovoo has become so popular recently. Im sure these sites will make this available to its users soon enough.

  3. With the release of the new iPhone (4G) with video chat capabilities, more companies will jump on the train so they can be competitive and in the end users will have much more options of using video chat. Facebook is prone to updating often so I don't see why it wouldn't implement such a feature soon.
